TeamSmile is the nation’s premier advocacy group that partners oral health professionals with professional athletic organizations to provide life-changing dental care to underserved children in our communities.
On July 23, 2014, Dr. Robbins brought Team Smile to Cleveland. She teamed up with the Cleveland Indians and Proctor & Gamble to make this event a reality. The Terrace Club at Progressive Field was turned into a state of the art dental facility. 357 Boys and Girls Club members were treated to a day of dental care and fun. All children received a dental exam, cleaning and treatment if necessary. This was the first dental experience for most of the children which was positive and fun. Dr. Robbins recruited 100 volunteers to help along with the day, which included 21 dentists. Over $150,000 dental work was donated on this day! A visit from Cleveland Indians alumni, Joe Charboneau, Slider and the Hotdogs topped off the dance party!
Dr. Robbins has successfully held TeamSmile with the Cleveland Indians to be an annual event thanks to her support of the Cleveland Indians and Proctor and Gamble. Every year she recruits and manages more than 700 volunteers to make this event a success. It has served over 1,400 children of the Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland and collective donated almost one million dollars in free dental treatment. Corey Kluber served as spokesmen in 2015 and Fransicso Lindor is 2016 Spokesman for TeamSmile. Dr. Robbins is thrilled that her partners in charity are American League Champions and can’t wait to the World Series!
